He maybe little but he has a big heart

EVERY pound raised for Children's Hospice South West is important and valued. But the £1,100 from William Stokes' sponsored walk is extra special.

For here is a little boy of just six who was so touched by a talk about the hospice that he decided to help.

He knew about sponsored walks and thought that would be a good idea.

But lots of six-year-olds say well-meaning things and then five minutes later forget all about them.

But not William. He is a determined little soul.

He wanted to walk a long way and in the end managed a remarkable seven and a half miles.

For a six-year-old to walk that far is quite something. And to do it in aid of others youngsters who are ill is even more amazing.

He was not deterred by the rain, nor was he bothered about the distance.

He was simply determined to raise as much money as he could.

It must have seemed a very long way to a little boy but he managed to complete the walk despite the rain and despite the slugs.

So well done William. You listened to the talk about Charlton Farm and wanted to help children less fortunate than you. That was very grown up. No wonder your mum and dad are so proud of you.
